Kids' haircuts at Ema's
Haircuts can be a big deal when you're small. New sounds, a cape, someone you don't know holding scissors near your ears. At Ema's, we're used to that — little ones are part of a normal day in the shop, from first haircuts to back-to-school trims to the fade your teenager has been asking about.
Bring your child in when it works for your family. If a parent's lap makes the chair feel safer, just say so; the goal is a calm visit and a cut that looks good when it grows out.

- The same fades adults get, sized for younger heads.
- Girls' trims
- Ends trimmed, bangs shaped, length kept where you want it.

Kids' haircuts: common questions
Can my child sit on my lap?
Yes, if that's what helps them feel comfortable. Just let your barber know when you sit down.
What age is right for a first haircut?
There's no set age — it's whenever the hair is getting in their eyes or you're ready. We're happy to do a light first trim that keeps most of the length.
My child gets nervous. Any tips?
Talk about the visit beforehand, bring a favorite toy or show, and choose a time when they're rested. Watching a parent or sibling get a cut first often helps too.
Can parents and kids get haircuts in the same visit?
Absolutely — that's what a family barbershop is for. Walk in, or call ahead if you're bringing a bigger group so we can tell you how the wait looks.
How much does it cost?
We don't post prices online so you always get the current number. Call (623) 925-9714 and we'll tell you before you come in.
